Dear Friends, I would like to invite you to dress up and come out for our I Rise Showcase Dinner at the Mellwood Art Center on March 18th. The reception starts at 6:00 pm with dinner following at 7:00. The I Rise program here at New Directions, exists to help change the cycle of poverty for low-income families who are residents of our apartments. Our residents know that saving money and getting ahead is difficult, but I Rise can help build a more stable financial future. Cherrie Vaughn, a current I Rise participant recently said, “I’m super grateful and thankful for this chance of a lifetime, not just for me but for my boys. I tell them to take advantage of every opportunity they have. I want to put them in a position to change the world.” The dinner is on us, thanks to our wonderful sponsors, but we hope during the evening you will want to join all of us in supporting this life changing program, I Rise.
